Let us invest in health education - Yamson

Accra, Nov. 18, GNA - Mr Ishmael Yamson, Chairman of University of Ghana Council has called on corporate institutions and organisations to invest in health education to ensure the development of the required human resource base for quality health care delivery in the country. He noted that knowledge acquired by health personnel would save the lives of many Ghanaians. Mr Yamson made the call at a fund-raising dinner and awards night organised by College of Health Sciences of the University of Ghana in Accra at the weekend. It was to support its Post Graduate Endowment Fund and reward individuals, institutions and organisations that had contributed to the fund. Mr Yamson said most corporate institutions and organisations, used most of their funds to support beauty pageants and it would be appropriate to channel these funds in health education.

Mayor sounds alarm, says Daniels' plan would cost city

If the mayor would stop spending taxes before our local government has appropriately allocated it like he did when he spent $100,000 for a used barge on the LST than us taxpayers would not need to have the state intervene on our behalf. Oh yeah and I remember that a taxpayer went to that meeting and said that the mayors estimates and figures were wrong, gee didn't that pet project go over budget by more than $1.5 milliion? Yep! It sure did! Cry to yourself Whinezapfel. I am sure that the mayor will just create “fees" to cover any shortfalls. And finally let us not forget the $750,000 parking lot for the loft program... how many taxpayers can get into those lofts at one time anyway? Oh that is right they were given to private companies to sell for profit... my dollars taken from me by the government and then given to someone else.
